About Me
Hi, my name's Liz and I'm an Integrative Counsellor.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Warwick and I have worked with several organisations including Mind and the NHS.

I'm an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which means that I'm a regulated professional working according to their ethical framework.

How I Work
I aim to offer a safe, compassionate, non-judgemental space for us to work through whatever is troubling you together.
Life can be hard at times. It could be that you're feeling low, anxious or stressed, you're struggling with your relationship with yourself or others or you're experiencing difficulties adjusting to changes in your life such as loss or illness.

Whatever your issue, I will support you to connect with and express your feelings and thoughts with a view of increasing your self-awareness and self-compassion.

We'll consider your past life events and relationships and how these might be influencing you in the present, drawing on any themes that may arise. This could help you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, improve your relationships and gain a greater sense of control over your life, making life more fulfilling in general.

I'll use a variety of techniques from various approaches including Humanistic, Person Centred, Attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Psychodynamic and Gestalt to help you draw on your inner resources, leaving you with a sense of empowerment.

Counselling isn't about giving opinions or advice but I will facilitate you in making your own decisions and reaching your own conclusions – whether that’s by making effective changes in your life or by finding ways of coping with your problems.

You can find out more about what to expect from the different types of therapy and how they can help on the BACP website.

Sessions & Fees
I work with individual adults based in the UK remotely via video or telephone. Sessions last 50 minutes and are held on the same time and day on a weekly or a fortnightly basis.

The first session would involve a discussion around what's brought you to therapy, what you'd like to achieve from our work and how we can best support you.
It's important to feel comfortable with your therapist so it would be a chance to decide whether I am the right therapist for you. There would be no commitment to continue with sessions following this.
Further sessions can be arranged on a short-term basis (from six sessions) or on an open-ended basis (no specified end date) with regular reviews to ensure you are getting the most out of your sessions. We will consider which approach might be best for you in the initial session but please see more info here on my therapy options page.
I am available on weekdays and I charge £50 per session.
I am able to offer reduced rates for students or those on a low income - please contact me to discuss this.

I am a registered provider with Aviva and Vitality Health insurance.

"Liz is an amazing therapist who helped me a lot during our time together. From the start, she created a caring and supportive environment where I felt comfortable opening up. By the end of our sessions, I always walked away feeling more self-aware and confident about my ability to manage difficult situations."
